Lost River Sessions, the folk music series produced by WKU Public Broadcasting is kicking off a new live concert series for the general public hosted at the Capitol Arts Center in Bowling Green, KY. The first concert is scheduled for September 15th at 7pm and will feature the Dead Broke Barons, the Misty Mountain String Band, and the Carmonas. Tickets ($10) are on sale now here. Lost River Sessions won it's second Emmy this year at the Ohio Valley Awards Ceremony in the "Lighting" category. The show was nominated for three awards at the event including the "Program" and "Audio" categories. Full Story available here.

The Misty Mountain String Band prepare their third album for release
Kentucky based bluegrass group, the Misty Mountain String Band are currently preparing the release of their third album, Red Horizon, and have created a Kickstarter campaign to help fund it. You can find out more about the project and how to contribute here.

WKU PBS wins Emmy award for Lost River Sessions
It was a first for WKU PBS on Saturday (July 25) as James Pearson won an Emmy Award for audio work on the popular "Lost River Sessions" television program. It was the first time in 23 years that WKU’s public television service had received an Ohio Valley Regional Emmy in that category, capping off a record seven Emmy nominations. WKU PBS has been nominated in each of the past 12 years, receiving the award 18 times.

WKU PBS earns record 7 Ohio Valley Emmy Award Nominations
WKU PBS, WKU’s Public Television Service, has been nominated for seven awards in six different categories for the 51st Annual Ohio Valley Emmy Awards. Recipients will be announced during a July 25 ceremony at Keeneland in Lexington.
WKU’s public broadcasting service has been nominated in each of the past 12 years, receiving the award 17 times.
“Our audiences expect excellence from our staff. We take our responsibility to them and this region very seriously,” Director of Public Broadcasting David Brinkley said. “We are particularly honored that Kentucky focused programs are featured for award consideration this year.”
