LOST RIVER SESSIONS PRESENTS: Banditos with The Bowling Green Rock Band Academy

The Banditos will grace the stage of The Capitol in downtown Bowling Green on Thursday, October 19 for the 3rd performance of the Lost River Sessions LIVE Fall 2023 Season.

Starting the night is Bowling Green Rock Band Academy, a group that provides private lessons and semester-long programs to local musicians to get them better connected to making music. The Bowling Green Rock Band Academy was created by Jordan Weiss and Matt DeVore, who are both instrumental characters in the Bowling Green music scene. After years of “total domination” in private lessons, Weiss and Devore decided to join forces to create a well-thought-out curriculum on the fundamentals of rock music for all ages in a way that allows students to fully immerse themselves into their music. The Bowling Green Rock Academy gives local musicians the experience of playing in a real rock band, and we cannot wait to see them on stage at The Capitol.

The Banditos is composed of 5 talented artists who work together to create a mix of rock and bluegrass music that cannot be duplicated. Mary Beth Richardson (vocals) says “Everything we write is from the point of view of every person. I think the undertone of most of the music we write is inclusivity. Everyone can relate to it. Everyone can feel it” She speaks for the whole band - Mary Beth Richardson (vocals), Corey Parsons (vocals, guitar), Randy Wade (drums), Jeffery Salter (guitar), and Stephen Pierce (vocals, banjo, bass)- when saying they write music for everyone to relate to and their lyrics reflects their mission statement. With highly emotional songs like “Easy” and “Time Wasted” the band’s ability to make universal struggles like heartbreak, and mental health and create beautiful ballads that encompass the exact way it feels to experience these tragedies. The Banditos know how to make music personal and universal simultaneously and we cannot wait to witness the magic live.
