LRS LIVE!

Zachary Lucky and opener, Tramp

February 15th will kick off the 2024 Lost River Sessions Live Concert Season with headliner Zachary Lucky as he makes his Bowling Green debut.

For over ten years, Zachary Lucky has steadily been building a name for himself on Canadian and International stages alike often performing hundreds of shows every single year. He has performed at festivals such as the Regina Folk Festival, Dawson City Music Festival, and Mariposa Folk Festival in Canada - and at International festivals such as Wickerman (Scotland), Latitude (UK), the Static Roots Festival (Germany) and has twice been an official showcasing artist at Folk Alliance International.

He is unapologetically old-school country, armed with a husky, baritone voice - He often receives comparisons to songwriters such as Gordon Lightfoot and Kris Kristofferson. He sings of Canadian places and people as knowingly as he might Townes Van Zandt or the Rio Grande. It's a relatable show on many levels and conjures universal feelings that have passed through our collective timelines. Already hailed as a master storyteller by outlets ranging from No Depression to The Globe and Mail, Zachary is becoming a legend in his own right and has safely reserved his spot at the table of Canadian roots royalty.

Over the course of his career, Zachary’s music has been featured in numerous television shows and movies - most recently in the Netflix series “The Ranch”. You could also hear his songs featured in shows such as “A Summer Romance” (Hallmark Summer Movie), Arctic Air (CBC), and Continuum (Showcase).

Opening for Zachary is local favorite, Tramp

LOST RIVER SESSIONS PRESENTS: a Bluegrass Holiday

Lost River Sessions welcomes you to a Bluegrass Holiday, with The Alley Cats, Arthur Hatfield and Buck Creek, and Vickie Vaughn and Friends! Join us at The Capitol on December 2 at 6:30 pm Central, for a night of music and holiday cheer you will not forget!

All the way from Nashville, award-winning bassist and vocalist Vickie Vaughn is making her Lost River Sessions debut. She has performed at DelFest, the Grand Ole Opry, and recently was featured in a Musician Spotlight at the Country Music Hall of Fame. In 2023, she was named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Bass Player of the Year. Music has been in Vaughn’s blood since youth, saying “I started out singing at a music venue near my hometown in Western Kentucky called The Kentucky Opry. I got hired full-time as a background vocalist and featured performer when I was nine years old. Continuing there for the next nine years was SUPER important to my development as a musician and an artist.” Now, Vickie Vaughn fronts a band of talented musicians who create an astonishing bluegrass ensemble.

The Alley Cats are from right here in Bowling Green, a group consisting of Benjamin Douglas Deaton, Cody Beck, Matthew Brooks, and Stephen Yates.

Arthur Hatfield and Buck Creek hail from Glasgow and consist of Arthur Hatfield, Ricky Burch, Amanda Everett, and Johnny Day. The group has released four recordings and has garnered fans from across Kentucky and beyond. With their ensemble of banjo, mandolin, guitar, fiddle, and iconic vocal harmonies, this band is overflowing with jaw-dropping talent.

Can’t wait to see you there! WKU students and any other student with an ID get in free! Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at capitolbg.org/get-tickets or at the door.
