It’s almost a wrap for Lost River Sessions Season 5, but not before the last show in OWENSBORO!
Opening Lost River Sessions on May 18th is the Kentucky Shine Band. Owensboro natives themselves the Kentucky Shine Band guitarist JB Miller, Steven Stewart on fiddle, bassist Ross Clark, and Jordan Riehm on banjo have released 2 albums “Back in Again” and “Night Watch”. The band is true traditional bluegrass. Their unique stage presence and high energy allow them to reach a wide audience while still honoring their bluegrass roots. Kentucky Shine Band has played some very iconic shows including ROMP Music Festival, and First City Music Festival. They have even played at the venue for LRS Owensboro, The Bluegrass Hall of Fame. We are excited to host the Kentucky Shine Band and can’t wait for the show!
Grammy-nominated Sister Sadie is headlining the show! The band was formed after 5 best friends performed an impromptu concert at the Station Inn in Nashville. After they sold that show out, they knew they had something good going. Since its formation in 2012 Sister Sadie has won a slew of IBMA’s such as Vocal Group of the Year in 2019, then again in 2020 along with Fiddler of the Year for Deanie Richardson, and Entertainer of the Year—The highest award in Bluegrass. 202O also brought the group a Grammy nomination for their second album “Sister Sadie ll” In 2021 Deanie Richardson (fiddle), and Gena Britt (banjo, harmony vocals) and newcomers Hasee Ciaccio (bass), Jaelee Roberts (guitar, lead vocals), and Mary Meyer (mandolin, harmony vocals) brought home their third IBMA Vocal Group of the Year and Jaelee won IBMA Momentum Vocalist of the Year.
