LOST RIVER SESSIONS PRESENTS: James Carothers With Goldpine

Proceeds from April’s LRS go to the Brinkley Fellowship, supporting adults with autism in the workplace.

Goldpine is going to be opening Lost River Sessions on April 20. The lovebirds met back in 2006 and needless to say it was love at first sight. When first making music, the duo was known as “My One and Only” but then realized the whimsical name doesn’t quite fit their iconic, gospel-like sound. Benjamin and Kassie believe in integrating their personal beliefs and values into their music and with their lead single “Wander Away” they display the importance of mental health awareness. They’ve been touring since 2016 and are recent winners of the 2022 Rocky mountain Songwriter Contest and finalists in the Kerrville Folk Fest 2021 New Folk Competition. Strong songwriting is at the foundation of the duo's American sound and it shows in their bold, and inspiring melodies.

Tennessee-born James Carothers is the headlining act. Like many country superstars, James started singing in his church's choir growing up. James’ father, Jim who was also a musician, was a large inspiration for James’ pursuit in the music world. James had always played around with songwriting, but it wasn’t until his late teens that he started to play local shows in New Mexico where he lived at the time. After spending some time working as a technician at LANL (Los Alamos National Laboratory) and building a family, James decided in 2015 to leave his job and return to Tennessee to make being a country music artist his career. Shortly after he moved to Nashville, he was hired by Nancy Jones for a steady gig at the George Jones Museum. Since 2015, James has played over 2000 shows at many iconic venues like The Nashville Palace, and Bridgestone Arena, and even got a standing ovation following his Grand Ole Opry performance at the Ryman Auditorium. James’ throwback country sound will bring you back to the good ole days and is guaranteed to have you singing at the top of your lungs.
